About the images

Sunshine Lake Eagle Cap Wilderness

As a photographer/artist I believe the more I am involved throughout the process of creating the image the more it reflects my vision and intent. The creative process does not stop when I click the shutter but continues with each additional step. I personally develop my own black and white negatives while sending out color negatives and transparencies for processing. I then scan and process the images using the computer as I had a traditional wet darkroom for many years before. Once I am satisfied with the final product I have the image printed by my specifications at a professional lab. Their job is to make sure the printer is working properly and they make no adjustments whatsoever to the image. This allows me as the artist to maintain full control of the print. Upon receiving the first print I inspect it and make any further refinements as necessary until I am satisfied with the final product. Although many hours go into the making of each image from the click of the shutter to matting the final print it is a labor of love I enjoy. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of them yourself.
